Loft Configurations

Available in all rooms on campus, except in Henderson House or Martha Cook.  

There are two types of furniture on campus depending on what hall you are in. Building Block furniture and Lifespace furniture are the two types of furniture in the University of Michigan halls. We’ve provided images of both types of furniture for each bed configuration available. 

Building Block halls: Baits Houses, Betsy Barbour Bursley Hall, Fletcher Hall, Helen Newberry, Mary Markley Hall, Northwood I & II, Oxford Houses, South Quad. 

Lifespace II halls: Alice Lloyd Hall, Baits Houses, Bursley Hall, Couzens Hall, East Quadrangle, Mary Markley Hall, Mosher-Jordan Hall, North Quadrangle, Northwood III, Oxford Houses, Stockwell Hall, West Quadrangle. 

Oxford House rooms use both types of furniture 

Bed Heights 

• Half Loft Height: 28.5″ of clearance beneath the half loft for either furniture type 

• Loft Height: 58″ of clearance beneath the loft for either furniture type

Order before August 1st and we’ll assemble your Bed Configuration in your room before general move-in. Orders placed after August 1st require a scheduled appointment at the distribution location, with assembly taking up to 72 hours.
